Diners overwhelmingly call out the signature dish as the must-order. The vibe reads as vegan restaurant — service is consistently described as warm and unhurried. Common gotcha: queues form at peak times — go early or late.

Excerpts

This is a very good local breakfast/brunch eatery!!! We have enjoyed all of the items there except my husband wasn't fond of the panini. Their servings are very filling. I am a new fan of their frozen beverages and will be returning.

First time visitors to Up Down this morning for breakfast and we were totally impressed! Three people - two of us had the Breakfast Platter with eggs, potato bites, sausage, and a biscuit, and one had the Breakfast Quesadilla. We added a cinnamon roll for us all to try/share, and 3 fountain drinks. The total was $35, which we thought was more than reasonable for the food. It was out quickly, was obviously freshly made, and extremely tasty. We all said the cinnamon roll was probably the best we’ve ever had (they’ll warm it for you before they bring it out!). I was unsure what “potato bites” were - I was assuming something like diced/roasted potatoes, but they were more like large, seasoned hash rounds - that was definitely a happy surprise! They were great! The breakfast quesadilla was delicious - I was skeptical of “spicy sauce” on a breakfast item, but it was another happy surprise!! I will definitely order that again! We were also met with friendly, patient employees, who were more than happy to tell us about the menu items, and welcomed us as first time visitors. A+ to Up Down Eatery - y’all are doing breakfast RIGHT!

This eatery is by far one of the very best I have tried! It has a nice variety of items on the menu, those that I tried are quite delicious! The staff is very friendly and helpful. Ms Octavier Pippins was our cashier and she is very sweet! I definitely recommend this place! Will come again!
