Diners overwhelmingly call out the signature dish as the must-order. The vibe reads as vegan restaurant — service is consistently described as warm and unhurried. Common gotcha: queues form at peak times — go early or late.

Excerpts

Do yourself a favor and swing by, there is something for everyone here! We stopped twice during our visit to Cleveland. The first visit was for lunch and thankfully they were serving the dinner menu as well because I was dying for some molokhya! It was delicious and the chicken was AMAZING!! It definitely hit the spot!! We also started with the muhamarra which was excellent. My husband ordered the shawarma bowl, that was just OK, it needed more flavor.. maybe if it was served with Taziki instead of Tahini? Our second stop was for breakfast: we did sun rise on the Nile and OMG the Foul (fava beans) was out of this world, it was all garlic but it was soo good, we practically licked the plate! The pickles were excellent as well. I loved how crunchy was the Falafel from the outside but it was a bit dry on the inside, it could’ve used tahini or taziki on the side to dip in. We ordered the shakshouka as well, I personally prefer the eggs a bit more runny than how they were served.. it also needed something else to give it more flavor (but that is because tomatoes don’t have taste in the US) Overall excellent, if I ever return to Cleveland, I will definitely go back. It is also within walking distance from Cleveland Clinic

Our hunch was right, and the other positive reviews ARE true! We never enjoyed Egyptian food before and this experience was a perfect introduction. Omar helped us begin the evening by bringing us a surprise — meaning, we let him choose our starters. It was perfect! Our entrees were from the Egyptian portion of the menu and we couldn’t have been happier. From the cozy classy atmosphere, to the cardamom scented Turkish coffee (and Carrot Cake!), we must share our compliments to the owner, Omar, the young woman on shift with him, and those in the kitchen that made this wonderful experience possible. Thank you so much!
