Diners overwhelmingly call out the signature dish as the must-order. The vibe reads as vegan restaurant — service is consistently described as warm and unhurried. Common gotcha: queues form at peak times — go early or late.

Excerpts

Urbane Cafe is a bright and modern spot in Simi Valley that offers a refreshing variety of sandwiches, bowls, and salads. The atmosphere is casual yet comfortable, with plenty of natural light and neatly kept dining spaces. It feels welcoming whether you’re grabbing a quick lunch or sitting down for a more relaxed meal. The Salmon Salad turned out to be a great choice. The salmon was well-cooked, tender, and seasoned just right, with a subtle smoky flavor that paired beautifully with the crisp mixed greens. The salad was loaded with fresh veggies, light dressing, and topped with a sprinkle of sesame seeds that added a nice texture. A slice of fresh focaccia bread was served on the side, warm and soft inside with just the right amount of crispness on the crust. Service was friendly and efficient, with staff making sure the food came out quickly and everything was as expected. Prices are fair for the quality—portion sizes are generous, and the freshness of ingredients really stands out compared to typical chain spots. Overall, Urbane Cafe is an excellent option for anyone looking for a healthier but flavorful meal in Simi Valley. The Salmon Salad is definitely worth trying if you want something light yet filling, and the overall experience makes this a spot you’d gladly come back to.

I ordered a Mediterranean Bowl, add chicken to go and they were quite a bit stingy with the chicken. The plate had some decent weight so u didn't think anything but when i got home, turns out there was plenty of brown rice 🙄 and only like 3 maybe 4 very thin slices of chicken. Everything else was great. If I ever go back I will bring this up to make sure they are weighing things correctly when putting together the plates.

Great, timely service during the midday lunch rush. The ambiance was welcoming and the food tasted great. Overall, I highly recommend this store.
