We went here for breakfast. First off, the food here is phenomenal. Great flavor. But unfortunately, I’m going to have to break this 5 star streak due to customer service. This is a cute, quaint place. Clearly a heartfelt small business. The food is intentionally put together. I must of came on a day that they were short staffed or the young man that was on the floor as our server wasn’t a server, but had to be that day. When we arrived, we were immediately sat by one of the bussers. At the same, another party was being sat as well. They received menus and we did not. I went up to the hostess stand and asked for menus, no problem. He took our order then the service started going downhill. I ordered black coffee and had to ask for it again 10 minutes after. It still took a long time an he brought it out with cream. He asked my partner if he wanted water then did not come back with it until we asked again. That still took a long time. The food was brought out. We ordered two entrees, mine with toast. He forgot my partners toast and never brought it out even though we saw it sitting in the counter. Doesn’t every entree with eggs come with toast?? There was another lady there clearing off a larger table. She didn’t seem to be checking on any other tables around her even though it was obvious that the young man serving us had zero experience. I used to own a restaurant, so I tend to notice a lot of details. The restaurant was about 75% full and many of the mistakes made were simple. Prioritization is key when serving at any restaurant. Like I said, the food was AWESOME. It’s a shame that the service wasn’t great.

My friend and I visited Napa for the wine train tour and discovered this adorable, quaint, family owned restaurant. Upon chatting with the host, we discovered it’s named after their 6 year old daughter, Valentina. The food is so good we chose breakfast here two of the 3 mornings we were in town. The owners, David and Blanca, have established a gem that we plan to make an annual trip for, mind you, we’re from Indianapolis, IN. Add this to your list. You won’t be disappointed!
