Diners overwhelmingly call out the signature dish as the must-order. The vibe reads as vegan restaurant — service is consistently described as warm and unhurried. Common gotcha: queues form at peak times — go early or late.

Excerpts

Basil with egg plant & soft tofu was excellent! My favorite was the salt/spicy fried mushrooms!! It was lightly fried , crispy oiliness! The congee with Japanese melon was creamy & smooth.. but the Kong pai chicken was not good! Both the texture of the chicken and instead of using green/red pepper, they used this kind of cucumbers..

First time at Veggie Valley. I'm impressed with the decor and the service. Parking is available at the underground garage if not available in the open air lot. This restaurant used to be at Focus Plaza and has a rich history from their Taiwanese owners. The green beans are sauteed perfectly. The fried oyster mushrooms are so good, we got it without the egg wash and it is still so flavorful. As is the sweet and sour mushrooms. I really liked the flavor of the eggplant tofu and the kung pao soy chicken. Great food and a perfect location for vegetarian food.

Liked: * A big variety of vegetarian dishes and tastes to choose from, including mock meat and fish * Unpretentious, simple, good food * Speedy, friendly service This isn't a fancy place - tucked upstairs in a dingy, dated plaza. A reliable neighbourhood gem for Chinese style vegetarian quick meals.
