Based on some other reviews we had fairly high hopes for Watami... When we arrived we were a bit puzzled by the lack of Korean BBQ grills, until we realized that we weren't at the OTHER Watami. Oh well, we thought, we came for AYCE Sushi anyway. It's too bad that we didn't let the fact that we were the ONLY customers in the place at 6:30 pm on a Thursday guide us to reconsider Although the atmosphere is quaint enough, it felt like we were eating INSIDE the cooler with the raw fish. Perhaps they wanted customers to feel comfortable in the restrooms, as it was the only warm spot in the place! Speaking of lack of warmth, our "server" was colder than the whole restaurant. I suspect that this might be a family establishment, and this scion was NOT happy about following in the family's footsteps. Jason, I get it, you don't have to want to work at the family biz, go to college and follow your dreams, because it's 100% apparent that THIS isn't where you want to be. Now, as far as the actual food goes, it certainly wasn't the best I've ever had, but I've eaten far worse! I was pleased with the sashimi cuts, just enough, but not so much that you feel weird eating each bite. The Tempura and Shumai were both good, although the sauces tasted a bit 'odd', not bad, but just not what I'm used to My wife usually goes for the rolls, while I'm more a sashimi/nigiri guy. But I tried her rolls and they were fair. She ordered a Spider roll, shrimp tempura roll, and Godzilla roll. With the King of Monsters definitely taking the crown there. Lastly although it seems trendy lately to have a robot deliver your food, I can't stand the practice. I could maybe understand if a business is slammed, but in this case it just seemed like Jason could be bothered (not that he was very good about refilling our drinks either). TL;DR: There are far better places to go

10/10 some of the best sushi I’ve had in Indiana!! The service was great and the restaurant was cozy. Everything we ordered was made fresh and was all flavorful. Lunch price was $15 per person, well worth every penny!!
