Diners overwhelmingly call out the signature dish as the must-order. The vibe reads as vegan restaurant — service is consistently described as warm and unhurried. Common gotcha: queues form at peak times — go early or late.

Excerpts

We ordered the idli, paper masala dosa, and chana bhatura, and it was absolutely worth the 20-minute detour. The paper masala dosa was thin, crisp, and generously filled, served with flavorful chutney and sambar. The idli was soft and fresh. The chana bhatura was the standout — the chana was perfectly spiced, rich, and full of flavor, and the bhatura was soft and fluffy. Easily one of the best chana bhatura we’ve had. Simple presentation and authentic flavors made the food really enjoyable. However, I’m giving 4 stars because the dishes didn’t come out together — one dish arrived much earlier, and there was a noticeable wait before the others were served.

We tried the South Indian thali and the Mysore thali, and both were very generous in quantity and full of authentic flavors. If you’re visiting as a couple, honestly one Mysore thali is more than enough, the appetizers alone are quite filling. You can easily share one thali and add a couple of extra dishes to round out the meal. Great food and excellent value!

Visited Woodlands Indian Cuisine on January 16th around 12–1 PM with a friend. We ordered two varieties of dosa. The food itself was decent nothing exceptional, but satisfactory. I’d rate the dosa around 7/10. However, the experience took a turn right at the beginning. When we were served water, we noticed a strong fishy/odd smell coming from the glasses (and possibly the water). It was quite off-putting and not something you expect when you’ve just arrived to eat. We immediately informed the person at the front desk and asked if bottled water was available instead. While they did provide a sealed water bottle, we were charged for it, even though the request was made due to a hygiene concern with the glasses/water initially provided. We’re originally from California and have dined at many Indian restaurants, but this was a first-time experience for us. Cleanliness especially with something as basic as drinking water really matters. Food was okay, but the water/glass hygiene issue and the way it was handled left us disappointed. Hoping the management takes this feedback seriously and improves on these basics.
