Diners overwhelmingly call out the signature dish as the must-order. The vibe reads as vegan restaurant — service is consistently described as warm and unhurried. Common gotcha: queues form at peak times — go early or late.

Excerpts

A very cozy place to dine at. The food is great. Me and my friend had ordered hummus which came with warm pita. Chickpea flitters which were different than the usual falafel and i loved it. We also ordered a dish which was very warm n tasty. The owner himself came up to us and checked if everything if good, which I felt was very kind of him. :)

Great vegetarian options with multiple choices in appetizers and 2 options in entrées. We ordered hummus, fritters and meatless moussuka along with to go cookies (handmade Turkish sweets which were not baklava). Food was nice but the owner stopping at each table, talking about the food, and spreading smiles on all faces around him was the highlight of the whole experience. Will visit again to try other things on the menu.

I have to say, this meal surprised me a little bit. I didn’t have any expectations going into Yiayia's Greek Kitchen since I’d never eaten there. It wasn’t on my “must try” list. It was just somewhere new and we were bored on a Thursday night. And every single item, every single flavor, every single bite delighted me. Not just good. Not just great. But among the list of best foods you can get in Mississippi. I made the “mistake” of ordering the appetizer sampler because I wanted to try around the menu… and boy was it worth it. It was freakin' huge. The Yiayia’s Mezes platter included everything - meatballs, cheese pies, chickpea fritters, spinach pie, stuffed grape leaves, pita, tzatziki, feta, olives. We could have split that as our meal and been very happy. Every item was wildly fresh. Super well seasoned. Nothing felt like filler. Everything you could want. But I saw the cabbage rolls and had to try them. I haven’t had a good cabbage roll since moving from Northwest Indiana - future home of the Chicago Bears - and those are serious cabbage roll standards. These sounded legit. Oh… they were legit. Super flavorful. Delicate. The cabbage had been baked perfectly and the filling was amazing. These rivaled any I’ve had anywhere. Only us and one other family were in there. And this place should be sold out every night. We will absolutely be back.
