Diners overwhelmingly call out the signature dish as the must-order. The vibe reads as vegan restaurant — service is consistently described as warm and unhurried. Common gotcha: queues form at peak times — go early or late.

Excerpts

First time at the Zombie Bar in Des Moines, and it was a total surprise in the best way. It popped up on my GPS, caught my attention, and I figured, why not, but it ended up being way cooler than I expected. Especially the menu. Golden! Joe was our server and he was awesome, friendly, knowledgeable, and he walked us through the menu like a pro without rushing us. The food was solid, and the real star was the Zombie Unicorn shake, unreal. It’s one of those drinks you order for the fun of it, then realize you’d come back just for that. The whole place has a vibe that’s perfect for photos, and yes, I absolutely had to show it off on my socials. If you want something different, fun, and memorable, Zombie Bar is worth the stop.

I've been here a handful of times over the past few years. The burgers are decent and the milkshakes are always pretty good. My favorite thing to get every time is the Goat Cheese Poppers, though. So good! Especially with the raspberry dipping sauce. Somehow, it just works! I'm not sure when they added the ramen, but my hubs brought it home tonight. It was alright. The broth was a little too bitter and the char sui was cooked weird for being in ramen. It was still decent, but I think I would just stick with the burger after my next year-long hiatus. Love the updates to the inner-space, and the kiosks for ordering take-out. Novelty food, for sure. But if you like jalapeño poppers then definitely try theirs!

Decided to try this. So many great sounding burgers - and ramen. You can change the patty to a veggie burger on any of them. 2 different veggie burger patty options. Also good selection of side and milkshakes. They had a special holiday menu that was so tempting. Since this was vacation I decide to go all out. Juan of the dead burger with the beyond patty. So yummy. The server warned me on the croquette - good thing to- so I was prepared and didn’t get it all over my hands. Still would have been worth it though. I went with the sweet potato fries - nice and crisp. And ended with a Reese’s puff milkshake. Over all worth it and if I’m in town again I’d make it a point to stop by.
